Getting Ready for Spring

Yellow-headed Blackbird

As this fellow looks to move into a new home, I look forward to spring birding and the posting of bird photos again.

This shot was actually taken last year at McKenzie Slough, east of Bismarck, North Dakota.  I have a plethora of old bird shots that haven’t been processed – while migration is taking place, I’ll try to get to more of them.

  1. Now I haven’t seen that bird on my balcony yet! The picture made me smile instantly. I like the interplay of brown and orange on the bird, the feeder, and the background. I also think that the two green patches of grass add symmetry to your frame; a balance between horizontal green lines and the vertical main subject. I am so happy spring has sprung!
