Election Medication

Election Medication Final

I was sick

I’d been seeing a health care provider who truly seemed to care

And there had been some progress

But others said,

They didn’t see it

(Maybe… they didn’t want to)

So in came the doctors and they insisted I was sicker than I realized

And only they could help me

They pumped me full of medication

Provided by the pharmaceutical companies that had advertisements

All over their office walls

(Would you like a pen?)

The funny thing is (well, not really), I got sicker

I asked, if maybe the medication was making me worse,

If something new and innovative couldn’t be tried

They told me they knew best, better, besterest

They brought in more doctors, and gave me more medication

Which made me sick, sicker, sickerest

I think the doctors…might be the problem

I’m afraid, they just might kill me
